What are vitamins and why do we need them?
Vitamins are organic molecules that your body needs to maintain its normal functions. They are vital for optimal metabolism, growth and physical wellbeing.
WHERE DO VITAMINS COME FROM?
Your body doesn't produce its own vitamins, with the notable exceptions of Vitamins D and K. The 13 vitamins essential for your body to function properly should come from your food.
I eat healthily, so I should be getting enough vitamins, right?
That may not necessarily be the case. Highly-processed foods, over-packaging and long shipping distances mean that some of our foods can lose up to 98% of their nutrients, including those all-important vitamins. And that's not the end of the problem. Modern farming practices have led to vitamin and mineral-depleted soil.
A landmark study on the topic by Donald Davis and his team of researchers from the University of Texas (UT) at Austin’s Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry was published in December 2004 in the Journal of the American College of Nutrition. They studied U.S. Department of Agriculture nutritional data from both 1950 and 1999 for 43 different vegetables and fruits, finding “reliable declines” in the amount of protein, calcium, phosphorus, iron, riboflavin (vitamin B2) and vitamin C over the past half century.
CAN vitamin tablets solve the problem?
Most commercially-available oral vitamin supplements contain minute quantities of synthetic vitamins and minerals. The majority can be rendered useless by the digestive process. It is believed that only 15% of the active nutrients consumed orally find their way into your blood stream.
For vitamins and minerals to be absorbed into the bloodstream and circulated around the body, the digestive tract has to be healthy. But eating processed foods or having food allergies can inflame the digestive tract making it less effective at absorbing vitamins and minerals into the bloodstream.
And it gets worse. Certain foods carry high levels of 'anti-nutrients'. These are substances which actually block the the absorption of vitamins and minerals from the digestive tract!
Why are vitamin infusions so effective?
bypass the digestive system and degrading substances in the gut and allow the vitamins and minerals to flow directly into your bloodstream;
give direct access to your bloodstream which means that the vitamins and minerals are delivered to your cells more quickly and in higher concentrations, thereby supporting your cells to achieve optimal health;
deliver much higher concentrations of vitamins and minerals than is possible with tablets - for example, the anti-viral effect of Vitamin C requires 10 to 15 times the Recommended Dietary Allowance (RDA), a level which cannot be achieved through oral supplementation;
can benefit most people from athletes (by supporting performance and recovery), to overworked executives and employees (by supporting a healthy immune system, maintaining healthy energy levels and supporting the body during sustained periods of increased stress), to seniors (through improved nutrient absorption which supports healthy ageing).
are vitamin infusions safe?
All of our Vitamin Infusions have been thoroughly scientifically researched and tested by a team of leading medical doctors and pharmacists.
HOW LONG DOES A TREATMENT TAKE?
Our Vitamin Shots (injection) take just seconds and Vitamin Infusions (intravenous) take 20-30 minutes. Many patients begin to feel the effects during the IV therapy, which then continues over the following hours and days. It doesn't take long to start feeling refreshed, re-energised, and revitalised.
